Nancy Makela
An alumna of St. Mary's Elementary & High School Worcester. Over 20 years teaching experience with children from pre-school level through grade 2. Associate Degree, Bachelor Degree & Masters Degree all concentrating in the area of Early Childhood Education. Our students in Kindergarten are exposed to pre-reading skills and mathematical skills necessary to succeed in 1st grade. A safe nurturing environment provides a positive atmosphere conducive to learning.

About Kindergarten
Parental involvement is crucial to a child's success in kindergarten. A child is blessed to have a parent as their first teacher. Upon Entering St. Mary's Kindergarten in September, It is highly recommended that your child knows the following:

• First & last name
• Alphabet (be able to recognize in random order & not just the ABC alphabet song)
• Numerals and their value 1-10
